(Lack of) Shock! Horror! Renay changes her blog purpose and no one is surprised.

I have so many things I should be doing, like finishing up my comprehensive round-up of the first round of Nerds Heart YA decisions. Internet, I am pretty wordy so I am having some issues, but maybe that post will be along soon. I have also been attempting to read a book, titled How to Buy a Love of Reading and I can safely say I expected one thing and have quite honestly been given another, and am curious as to why the publisher thought this book might have crossover appeal. To me, yes, but I like thinky books, although I’m less a fan about books about rich white people with problems. I have problems, rich white people! LET ME SHOW YOU. They totally trump yours! I am struggling to feed myself; you’re complaining your kid is fat—as a teenager! Why, let me cry you a river.

Well, let’s hope it gets better! Because this book wasn’t published as YA, this is a great opening to say: I am going to start posting some bookish content and all my reviews here! Yes, even the reviews for books that aren’t published as YA novels. THIS ISN’T A BIG CHANGE: I read mostly YA lit, anyway, because I am awesome and have great taste in books! Books not published as YA will have their reviews clearly marked, as will other content I end up cross-posting? One day I will figure out the best way to take part in the book community. FREE ADVICE: it is not through OpenID and I know through personal and painful experience.

In closing, why couldn’t Twilight have been about Edward and Jacob’s doomed love? *sob*

ha ha ha! I’m having problems finishing up my Nerds Heart YA post too. Glad I’m not alone. Put the damn book down and read something else.

@Rebecca Where I talk about my endless woe that Twilight was not a doomed gay love story about fantasy creatures? STAY TUNED if so, because Surely I will continue lamenting this fact as the movies are released.

@Vasilly I did eventually give up and read another book, but I’m going to have to finish it eventually! I do not want to be known as “that girl who accepts review copies and then doesn’t finish them because she hates reading about white people and their problems”. Because seriously, I’ve gotten two books like this recently. Am I a MAGNET? Mostly I live to complain! IGNORE ME; everyone else does.

I am so not keen on Jacob for Edward at all, he should have some kind of not incestuous because they’re not really related, but kind of incestuous still deal with the skinny teen from his ‘family’ (sorry I’ve only read the first book and spent most of the film giggling). Also can I just say Bella and Alice forever.
