We’re sorry, this post is in another castle.

First let me just say that I laughed my ass off while reading this post. Not because I was laughing at what you had to say, but because I just love your writing. It entertains me so much.
As for Peter Pan, I don’t think I’ve ever been more torn about a book and it’s all because of the same things you mentioned. Part of me absolutely adored this book for it’s writing and the world he created. But at the same time, there is so much blatant racism and sexism in the book. And I’m totally with you about the “but things were different back then” thing. First of all, it’s ashame that racism and sexism were acceptable back then, and second of all, it’s ashame that it still exists and is acceptable to a point now!
@Chris I’m glad to keep you entertained. XD
Hey! I’m a HUGE Peter Pan fan but to my credit…it’s because of a movie made in 2003 more than anything. I’m afraid I have to agree on a couple things about the book though overall I still enjoy it but maybe that’s because I have the 2003 movie to balance it out in my head. I know alot about J.M. Barrie..not sure why girls only did that stuff in the book cause I know he didn’t actually have a problem with girls..and he loved his mother dearly…so it’s very strange. But that being said you have a hilarious way of writing. Did you see the 2003 movie by any chance? Wendy and Tiger Lilly particularly get in on a lot of the action in Neverland as opposed to just tending to the boys. I quite enjoyed it :)
