sunday book coveting post disguises a shameless researcher

We’re sorry, reader, but this post is in another castle.

With this statement: “I’ll reserve judgment there until I read the book, but misrepresentations of Darwin are an excellent way to make me breathe fire.” you just won Rich’s undying love. Of course, he already thought you were pretty awesome anyway.

@Debi I’ll take some undying love from Rich any day! <3

(But now I am dying to know what he would think of the book, of course! Maybe you guys could put it on your LIST. :D)

I managed to grab a copy of Leviathan at the weekend, makes me very happy! Now just need to finish these other two books so I can start it!

I have the same concerns about Leviathan, but the fact that he showed such a love of science in Peeps gives me hope.

Ooh, Renay, I hope you like King of the Screwups! I have another by Going checked out right now, so I’m anxious to see if she’ll become a fave for me.

Leviathan isn’t on my TBR yet because I haven’t even read Uglies, so I feel like I should read that first.

I am :-( for you that you don’t have a good interlibrary loan! Although, my library has drastically cut back on ILL budget for the foreseeable future, so I wonder if we’re all going to have a hard time of ILLs soon? Suck.

@Nymeth Yeah, that’s why I’m giving it a chance. I went to my library today to get a suggestion slip for that very reason! And also to pick to Fingersmith. >.>

@Kelly I got it today! I have happily stuck it on my planned reading pile. :D They had two of her other books, but I decided to not be greedy. Four books a trip is quite enough!

…sometimes I feel like I am going to be ostracized for not that reading that series. The Midnighters business sounds more interesting to me? Oops. ;)

And yeah, my interlibrary loan system is pretty poor. The best we have is that books in the county library system can be rotated around, but I’m in the biggest city with the biggest library! Curses. XD

…only sorta want to read the Uglies series. I know *everyone* has read it & liked it, so maybe my “only sorta” is unfounded.
This posted in 2 comments b/c I clicked submit before I was done! Ack.

@Liz Well, awesome! Now that’s definitely going on my list. Is it weird that the premise of Midnighters sounds more interesting than “a world where they MAKE everyone beautiful or else”.

…maybe I am cynical and jaded but I already live in that world. >>
