Hello! My name is Renay.

I am a 20-something United States citizen, hailing from Arkansas. I have been online since 1994. I have spent the majority of that time not involved in the book blog community, but instead writing fanfiction (I started in Sailor Moon fandom!), usually of the boys-kissing variety. I am a card-carrying, torch waving advocate of The Organization of Transformative Works. I am a fangirl. I love Fandom Wank and Fanlore and all the different ways fandom expresses itself. I am atheist and skeptic and feminist. I am liberal. I voted for Barack Obama in my heart in 2004 when there were rumors of an ‘08 run. I will one day write thoughtful fiction about life where boys make out and it’s not all about the issues. I love YA. I also love science fiction and fantasy, see: Naomi Novik and John Scalzi, my favorite favorites that ever did pen a story.

Also, I might have a little crush on John Green. Maybe.

YA Fabulous! was born because I love YA literature; reading it, dreaming about writing it, and writing fanfiction for it on reciept tape while I’m at work, and badgering friends to read my favorites. The blog has gone through many versions and purposes, but now is just a review archive. I’m collecting all the reviews (YA and otherwise) I post on my main journal on this journal, so they can be enjoyed without reading the ranting or the fanfiction. Plus, Google likes this blog better for indexing, because the URLs contain titles. More exposure for my opinions! Yes! Everyone read the books I love. Go on, I’ll wait. >.>
